USE ME
- Coarse/resistant hair
- Clients that require a stronger result
- Formaldehyde is NOT an ingredient
- Made up of Glycolic acid and keratin. The glycolic acid stretches the bonds without breaking them and deposits the keratin; when you blow-dry and iron with heat will help to lock everything in place.
- You can wash on the same day if you wish.
- You can tie your hair up.
- You can go to the gym.
- You can colour on the same day
- BUT ... if you want to apply styling product or curl the hair and or colour you must
- wash the hair first; So, let the hair cool down after ironing process then take the client over to the basin, shampoo twice (if colouring you don’t need to condition) then condition hair and style as normal.
- When colouring on the same day as the XT you ALWAYS bleach (any lightening) first then keratin taming XT otherwise deposit colours (reds, browns example) do the XT first, wash hair then colour.
- Always make sure stylist wash XT out properly otherwise you can have an issue with colour not covering, as the keratin will block the colour.
- You don’t need to shampoo the hair with and type of clarifying shampoo’s if the hair is reasonably clean no excess products or oils you can go ahead straight away apply the XT.
- If the hair is dirty, shampoo with a normal shampoo (i.e. Rescue, nourish, scalp, hydrator or magnify)
- XT Flattens the hair shaft, by stretching the hair.
- If the hair is very damaged (poor elasticity) do not do XT it is not recommended.
- If you have chosen to do the XT and the hair is a lot more damaged than you
- predicted and it becomes quite stretchy as you are applying the XT you can dampen the hair with water and also do not put any extra tension on it, use a thick end of the comb or even you can use your fingers and stretch the hair without stretching too much.
- CONSULTATION is key always go through a proper consultation find out as much info as possible this will help in choosing the right keratin for the client or prepping the client for the right keratin
- If the client’s hair is a little fragile you can use rescue treatments to repair the hair and prep the hair for XT.
- You can do “fashion” keratin with XT. Root stretch to cut the extra volume in the hair. You can do fringes, nap, any area that needs help
- You can reduce or increase time “absorption time” depending on the hair and needs and wants
- Key notes on application
- When Applying make sure the hair is as flat as possible to make sure you can achieve
- a flat smooth result.
- If the client has had multiple applications and the hair is becoming too flat on the
- ends you can dampen the ends down with water or you can apply the roots first
